Sedentary Xploits Monogram

For this assignment, I was given 2 letters "S" and "X". With these 2 letters, the goal was to create a brand for a company or business and design a corresponding monogram for it. My business was a Book Bar called Sedentary Xploits. There were 2 parts to this assignment which were the design process and the presentation.

This is a brief lineup of my creative brief for this project. It goes over what my brand is with additional background information to help build a concept for the monogram design.

These are all of my sketches for my monogram with annotations underneath. During this, I kept switching back and forth between a formal and fun concept.

Following my sketches are my black and white roughs along with one colored rough. At this point, I was still unsure of what I wanted and wasn't very fond of my roughs. I felt there was more that I could do to improve my monogram.

Eventually, I looked over my sketches and made an entirely different monogram where the "X" looks like a cocktail glass with an umbrella in it. I went with this design because it's not only fun to look at, but it still holds a formal appearance because of the font.

This is the final monogram in color, B/W, and with a social media variant. I also added a color palette, so it's clear what the primary brand colors are.
